My name is Melissa and I am married to a wonderful husband, Jeff, and have two adorable kittens, Cleo and Sadie.
A couple of weeks ago I came to the realisation (with the help of my gp) that I had lost my creative side. Alot has happened over the past 18 months - Jeff went through heart surgery to replace a valve in Feb 2008. It's not just the surgery that we have had to deal with. There is pre-op anxiety, the recovery process and more recently the post op depression that has been slowly building over a year. On top of that I've had to deal with added responsibilities at work, dealing with a company restructure that hit my team like an angry cyclone, and a business trip overseas, my first time overseas on my own.
I am worn out. I had forgotten about me.
My GP insisted I take a break and find something I enjoy doing before I completely run out of steam.
I spent a day or so surfing online, something else I haven't done in a while, and came across Made It. I bought a few things. I had to stop myself from buying more. It reminded me that many years ago when I was in high school and uni I used to do quite a bit of handicrafts and I thought this could be my saviour. Jeff insisted that we buy a sewing machine - my new toy.
So begins my journey to rediscover my creative side and to immerse myself in a hobby that provides that balance I need to keep my sanity. Wish me luck!

Twelve Noon has been around since 2003 in a variety of forms. The domain name was registered when I won a competition at the web hosting company.
Originally TN was a personal blog but I was quite slack with posting back then. Since then the domain has been used to host a variety of small fan listings. These sites were really just an outlet for me to experiment with different layouts, graphics and php scripting which I was quite into at the time. Up until late 2006 I was quite active in designing websites coding my own scripts.
So now it is time to resurrect Twelve Noon as a personal blog with a focus on crafty things. I aim to post regularly on the projects I am working on and more, and hope to do it justice. Perhaps my postings may inspire someone else to be creative.
